Human Behaviour

There has been a half-hearted attempt to introduce the concept of “human behaviour” into the CD for ISO 9001:2015. Health & Safety practitioners will already understand why it is important. It’s all very well writing a procedure, dotting the “i’s” and crossing the “t’s” but you have to think people into the equation, with all the selfish, lazy and sometimes stupid things that they (we) are eminently capable of doing.  What’s the likelihood people will actually do what the procedure says? As soon as you make the right thing a pain in the backside to do, you motivate people to find an easier way. These things MUST be considered.
